The assistant of the slain lawyer


LAHORE: An assistant to a lawyer was shot and killed by unidentified motorcyclists within Johar Town Police Station here on Tuesday. The victim identified as Aqeela Subhani and his boss, tax lawyer Sajjad Qureshi, were on their way when near Al-Raheem Homes, motorcyclists pulled over their vehicle and opened targeted fires, injuring the woman. She was transferred to the hospital where she died. CHC Ghulam Mehmood Dogar became aware of the incident. A few days ago, a female doctor was shot dead by unidentified suspects in resistance during a robbery offer.

FOUND MURDERED: A 23-year-old man was shot dead in Batapur. A passerby spotted the body dumped in a plot and informed the police who took the body to the morgue. The victim was shot in the head. He has been identified as Abdul Shakoor.

FOUND DEAD: A 27-year-old man has died under suspicious circumstances in Ghaziabad. The victim Safdar had a dispute with her father over a marital dispute. His father Saleem lodged a complaint with the police who took him into custody. He was later released after the reconciliation. On the day of the incident, he was found dead in his home. His father said he committed suicide by swallowing poison pills. However, other family members have called for an investigation into his death.

Looted: Burglars took money and valuables worth millions of rupees from a house in Defense B here on Tuesday. Victim Abdullah told police that suspected unidentified burglars broke into his house, smashing a window and took away 100 tolas of gold, 5 million rupees in cash and bonds worth 1.6 million rupees. The police registered an FIR on his complaint.
