Monster Mania-Con returns to New Jersey

Fans of horror films from the region will soon be flocking to New Jersey; After COVID’s forced cancellation last year, the 46th Monster Mania Convention returns to Cherry Hill this weekend. The show was scheduled and canceled twice last year, in March and June.

The convention, which bills itself as “three days of pure terror”, brings together horror movie stars and their fans from August 13th to 15th at the Crowne Plaza hotel. Some of the horror stars scheduled to appear (and have autograph sessions) include:

– Danny Trejo (Machete)

– Brad Dourif (voice of “Chucky”)

-Martin Kove (Kobra Kai)

– William Zabka (Kobra Kai)

– Matthieu Lillard (Scream)

– Skeet Ulrich (Scream)

– David Naughton (An American werewolf in London)

– Chris Sarandon (Child’s Play)

– PJ Soles (Carrie)

There will also be a Child’s Play reunion and Celebrity Dessert Night for VIP ticket holders. For a full list of stars and events, go here.

Separate tickets are required for photo ops.

According to the website, ticket holders for last year’s canceled show who transferred their tickets for that year are good for admission, but anyone who has obtained a refund must purchase new tickets. Additionally, masks are not mandatory but are highly recommended, stating that “we will follow the requirements and best practices of the CDC, state and local authorities, and the venue.”

Apparently there was quite a bit of pent-up demand, as Saturday and Sunday sold out with a few tickets available for Friday’s events.
